Writing to Cope: An Opportunity for Survivors of Trauma

And I Stand and Winn Publications LLC have officially developed a virtual educational writing program, Writing with Miss Winn: Coping with Trauma Through Expressive Writing, slated to take place in February 2021. Writing to cope is a powerful practice. This program provides a unique opportunity for the community to make a positive impact by supporting survivors of traumatic challenges, including mental health, domestic violence, sexual assault, rape, alcohol abuse, and drug abuse, through expressive writing.

Expressive writing is a coping mechanism that allows individuals to explore and express emotions and feelings, reflect on experiences, and address challenges creatively. To create a healing journey for survivors from diverse backgrounds, the founders and publishers of And I Stand and Winn Publications LLC decided to provide this outlet.

According to Steven Swink, in a 2018 National Alliance on Mental Health article, expressive writing can help improve mood, reduce depressive symptoms, and improve immune system functioning. The official registration period for Writing with Miss Winn: Coping with Trauma Through Expressive Writing is from 02/01/21-02/10/21 with limited seating.
